Player Testing Feedback

Stole from Nickys Blog:

Testing our game in class today, got some helpful feedback from our classmates!
Most of it was regarding the things that hadn’t been sorted in stencyl but were on Joss’ to do list, such as:
- being able to place fans anywhere rather than only on islands
- the bin wasn’t functioning
- to win the game, the seed can hit the bottom of the island – it should only be the top
- the addition of a reset button would make moving fans easier
Other things
- the dragging of the fans everyone struggled with – a click and drop seems like it will be better
- while the direction of the fans was clear, the range of them was not
- Zac suggested limiting the fans on each level and maybe having a counter
- a few people said it was really hard
Positive Feedback
- the visual style seemed to be a hit with everyone which is really good to hear
- Locky really liked the level selector
- Zac found the swapping between fans when one is incorrect clear and easy to use
- Zac also liked the addition of a platform that didn’t need to be used – it was there as a trick
Overall I am really happy with our user feedback. Everyone liked the aesthetic of the game which I am so so happy about. After hours in illustrator and photoshop mine and Nickys work on the design is paying off. Joss has done really good so far with where we are up to with the game as well.
Overall am very happy with where we are at the moment. And have a very clear idea of where we need to go from here.
