Final Presentation

Nicky and I put together a powerpoint for the final presentations tomorrow. We are really happy with how the game looks as a whole. Everything works well together and looks good.

Will upload presentation when it is completely finished in the morning.

 I kept it on the same background as the main menu page to keep it along the same theme.
First one was to cluttered so I deleted a few of the assets that I added in and it looked much better.
Seed will move like on homepage and a fan will be placed on the island.

Level Complete Page





Instructions

Wrote instructions in group meeting today.


Aim:
To get the last living seed to the top island and watch it grow into a tree.

Instructions:
1-    Drag and drop the fans onto the island platforms
Be aware of where they are placed as well as the angle they face
2-    When you think you’ve placed the fans in the correct positions, click the power fans button to propel the seed to the top
3-    You can dispose of fans at any time by dropping them off the islands or by clicking the reset button to remove them all.  The game will continually reset until you succeed.
4-    Once you direct the seed to the good land, you will unlock the next level.
There are three water droplets on each level, collect as many as you can along the way.

Down Arrow

Tomorrow Nicky and I are going to work on making the good land stand out. But for now I have redone the down arrow that pointa to the land.

Instead of using space bar to start

We are going to have a button that the user presses in order to start the game. Still yet to decide what the button will say as 'go', 'start' and 'play' seem like a button that the user would press before beginning the game. I personally feel it needs to say something along the lines of 'power turbines' or something like that. But we need to decide on this as a group, as well as the congratulating message that will appear on the screen once the level has been created. Was meant to be decided on at the 'group' meeting.

Much better sizing. Will look good once finished. Every thing Joss needs to code has been uploaded into dropbox since he was not present at the group meeting. Nicky is adding drop shadows to the counter and the extra details for the level select page. I have given Joss all place holders that he need in order to complete the game mechanics and code.

Level Complete Layout - Playing around


Forgot droplet counter. Mybad. 
Message still needs to be decided on. I like the counter better under the island (tree is animated to grow). Needs to be smaller and so does the message. But the font works. Nicky has redone the cliffs - they are looking fab, forgot land on this example but have redone with the land at the bottom and looks good. 

Still to do by group:

Had another group meeting with just Nicky and I present.

- Finalize layout of level completed page.

- Down arrow: Make to fit the game.

- Instructions page.

- Code the collection of the water droplets.

- Finish the tree animation.

- Add glow to seed?

- Code added detail to level select page.

Might be more but all I can think of at the moment.

Will add more detail to the level select page and I feel works very well. Have made these for each level difficulty. Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert.

Water Droplet Final

Ready for Nicky to now animate.

Islands finished for Nicky


Have finished adding the new grass with dropshadows to the islands so now Nicky will add the shading detail in illustrator in order to give them a 3D look. I have tried to make the 'Good Land' stand out and make it different to the other islands but nothing has seemed to look right. I made the grass greener and brighter but because they are so small you couldnt tell it was any different. Unfortunately we may have to stick with using an arrow and I will work on ways to making the arrow fit into the scene.

Island Improvement Playing around

Nicky did this background. Really liking it. I added the clouds to see what they would look like. Looks really good. Once we play around wth the cliffs and land the game will look completely different and awesome.
